Introduction
I am a clinical psychologist with 35 years of experience. I work with individuals, couples and groups, clinically, as a coach, and as a teacher. My training is grounded in the science of human development, and psychodynamic and systemic theories of how we grow and relate to one another.
Perspective
My work with individuals, couples, and groups of various kinds is based on several central ideas about human beings and being human.
- We are embodied. Our bodies, our senses, our minds are the foundations of our experience. Health and well being begins there.
- We seek to feel emotionally secure and “together.”
Self knowledge and life balance are fundamental goals that are obtainable by paying attention and by being intentional.
- Human connections provide the ground of our being and our social realities. Our personal boundaries and our relations with others are fundamental to our well being.
- Conversation and dialogue is central to knowing ourselves and knowing others. These are our tools for self knowledge, growth, and the solution to most solvable problems.
My work takes several forms: Psychotherapy, Coaching, Teaching.
